My purse was stolen on saturday along with the notebook where i’d been writing all the chapters for my stories (And about $300 worth of my other stuff including my phone). I’d been hoping to type them all up and have a marathon for you guys as a surprise, because i suck at updating, but that can’t happen for a while now -_-
so I wanted to apologize for writing you a two part response about why I didn't really like that last part lol. because honestly your a great writer and this is the best jelena fanfic i've read.. I realize you take time and put effort into writing these parts and I feel shitty for telling you I didn't think it was good. lol it was just my opinion that im not really interested in stories with his siblings like I said and ofcourse its your story and you should write about whatever you want..
It’s ok, I love hearing people’s opinions and constructive criticism because in the end it makes me a better writer. I know that the voice in this part was different from the rest of the story, but it’s not easy to jump back into something I haven’t written in months, but I’m going to try and get back into the mindset I was in when I first started writing. I’ll probably go back and reread all of the parts before I write the next part (:
these last two parts weren't my fav. I feel bad saying it but I feel like I check everyday to see if you've written. The other parts are SO good, like I'm reading an actual story. Part 9 was just kind of boring. Like one of the stories with jazzy and jaxon I usually scroll past in the Jelena tag. I'm sure the story will pick up but you take so long to post, ughh
I know I suck at updating but that it something I am trying to work on. Part 9 was kinda an outtake from the drama. It gets back to the main story line in the next few parts. (:
this might sound weird but neither Justin or selena's personalities seemed the same in this part as the rest of the story.. its probably just because you took such a long break, the story didn't really have the same vibe as it usually does.. still love it though!! can't wait to see what happens next.
Yes I know the characters shift a lot in this chapter. I was always planning on their personalities shifting a little as the story went on, but it wasn’t supposed to be this sudden. Like you said, It is mostly because I took such a long hiatus from this story, and it’s weird going back into it. Hopefully in the next few parts I can write them a bit more like I used to. Glad you’re still going to read though!
and anyway other than this part I absolutely love this storyyy!.. I guess I just like more the story of selena being a stipper and Justins life being so different then selena just hanging out with his sister
The rest of the story will focus more on Selena’s job and the dynamic that causes between them and the differences in there life. Justin’s parts are always going to be less intense than Selena’s parts though, and that kind of goes along with the differences in their lives. Selena’s parts have more angst, because she has more reason to be angsty.
thanks for writing! im not really a fan of fanfics revolving around Justin and selena playing with his siblings and wasn't really expecting a whole part of it in a story like yours.. it kind of took me out of your story if that makes séance.. as in it felt like I was just reading a ' Justin and selena spend the day with jazzy' fanfic rather then night and day but I get why you did it.. so they could bond, get close etc im just not a fan of it.. but that's just my feedback n u prob don't care lol
No, I always love to hear feedback. And I do understand what you were saying, but like you said, the rest of the fic mostly won’t be like this. This is probably one of the “fluffiest” parts of the story, and definitely the part with the most of Justin’s siblings. It kind of gets back to the main plotline in the next part, this was just kind of a sweet outtake from that, like you said, to show them bonding, and to show Selena getting more comfortable with Justin. I hope that you’ll still keep reading the rest of the story!
Sorry for the wait! I’m getting a little better at uploading though, hopefully (: This part is long and fluffy to make up for the last part being so short. Enjoy!
The place that I’d chosen for Selena and I to have lunch was a kind of upscale fancy French bistro place. I could tell that Selena felt kind of uncomfortable and out of place as we walked in and waited to be seated, so I casually slung my arm around her shoulder. She gave me a look, but I just smiled at her innocently; she didn’t shrug my arm off so I took that as a good sign. She had covered most of the bruises on her face with make-up, and they were only noticeable if you were really close, and her hoodie and jeans covered the rest of the bruises, but I could tell that she still felt self-conscious. It made me angry to think that she was letting that asshole get away with doing this to her.
“Let me show you to your seats,” The hostess said, leading us over to a window booth and handing us both menus. She asked us both what we wanted to drink (I asked for a coke and Selena just asked for a water) before nodding and walking away. She had a slight French accent, as did most of the workers here, because it was a French family owned business, and many of them had only recently moved from France. The food was delicious and authentic though, in my opinion the best French food in L.A., and it was definitely worth the steep prices.
Selena was looking at the menu confused, “I don’t even know what half of this is!”
I chuckled, “It all tastes good though, trust me.”
She looked up at me, obviously still confused, “Justin, there are no prices on this menu.”
That was precisely one of the reasons that I had chosen this place; I knew that Selena wouldn’t like me spending money on her, I could already tell that she was that kind of person, but I didn’t want to take her somewhere that she would just purposely choose the cheapest thing on the menu instead of what she really wanted.
Places like this didn’t put prices on their menus because the kind of people who eat here already know that the food is expensive; if you have to ask for the prices, you probably can’t afford to eat here.
This way, Selena wouldn’t know exactly how much money I was spending on her.
“Don’t worry about it,” I assured her, “This is on me, remember?”
She looked unsure. “Justin I don’t want you to have to spend a whole bunch of money on me…”
“Money isn’t an issue.”
I know that I was blessed and lucky to have had money my whole life and to have grown up in the family I did and around all the great things that I did, but I didn’t always know how to react when people brought up my wealth. I didn’t choose to be born rich and I was far from the spoilt stuck up brat that a lot of the rich people I knew were; but the fact remained that I had money and if I wanted to spend it, I would; and right now I wanted to spend it on Selena.
“I’m sure, for you, it’s not,” Selena said dryly, “But this all still seems a little over the top for lunch between two friends.”
I flashed another smile, “I like to treat my friends.” Selena looked like she was about to say something else, but at that point our waitress came with our drinks and asked us if we were ready to order.
Before Selena could say anything, I jumped in and ordered us for us both in French; the servers here were always a little nicer if they knew that you could speak the language; the waitress flashed me a friendly smile as she wrote our order down before informing me in French that our food would be here shortly and walking off.
When I turned my attention back to Selena, I noticed that she was staring at me.
“Sorry for jumping in an ordering for you,” I apologized, “I knew you were having trouble with the menu so I just ordered us both one of my favorites; I hope you don’t mind.”
Selena just continued to stare at me.
“What?” I asked, beginning to feel self conscious.
“You can speak French?” She finally asked with a surprised look on her face.
“Oh,” I said with an easy laugh, “Yeah. I grew up in Canada, and learned French when I was younger. My parents thought it was important for me to be bilingual so I continued French in school when we moved to Cali. I guess I’m pretty much fluent now.”
Selena was still staring at me.
“What? Is there something on my face?”
Selena shook her head. “Um no. It was just… weird hearing you speak French. You sounded uh…” she cleared her throat “…good.”
I grinned; I forgotten how much girls liked it when I spoke French.
“Je peux sembler bonne, mais vous être belle, ma chérie” I stated and Selena cocked her head to the side cutely.
“What did you just say?”
“Just that you’re beautiful,” I grinned and she blushed.
“Justin…” She said with a warning tone.
“What?” I asked innocently, “I can’t point out the truth to my friends?”
She just rolled her eyes good naturedly and I grinned.
“What about you? Do you speak any other languages?”
She shrugged. “I used to speak a little Spanish when I was real young, but I stopped a long time ago and now I can only just understand it a little.”
“Do you ever want to relearn one day?”
“I don’t know. Maybe. Andy is fluent; he would probably teach me if I asked. Francia would too.”
I rolled my eyes at the mention of her douchebag boyfriend again; I was about to say something but at that moment the waitress came with our food. She set the food down and said in French that she hoped we enjoyed our meal and that we could call her if we needed anything, and then she walked away.
I wasted no time digging into the food, and after a moments hesitation, Selena picked some up with her fork and put it in her mouth.
Then she moaned in bliss, and the sound went straight to my pants.
“Oh my God, Justin this is delicious,” she exclaimed.
I tried to make my smile seem natural as I awkwardly moved around in my seat and mentally willed my ‘friend’ to go down, “I knew you’d love it.” Why did Selena have to be so sexy?
The rest of the meal was mostly filled with light conversation as we both finished our meals. I had never met anyone who made eating look as sexy as Selena did, which definitely made the meal a little uncomfortable for me, but in the end it was worth it to see the smile on her face as she put her fork down on her empty plate and thanked me sincerely for the food.
“It was nothing, really,” I told her, “Do you want dessert?”
Before Selena could answer my phone rang, and glancing at the caller ID I saw that it was my dad, I gave her an apologetic glance before excusing myself and answering the call.
“Hey dad,” I said, trying to sound casual. I hoped the school hadn’t called him and told him that I skipped already. That would be super fast but knowing how strict they are on discipline it wouldn’t really surprise me. Glancing at my watch I saw that it was 3:25, so school had been over for almost an hour now, making it entirely plausible that they called my parents already.
“Hi Justin, can I ask a favor of you?” Okay, so not about school then. That lecture would probably come later.
“Sure, dad, what do you need?”
“Jaxon was climbing on the table again and he fell at hit his head so Erin took him to the hospital to make sure he doesn’t have a concussion. She doesn’t know how long it will take and Jazzy’s ballet lesson finishes at 3:45, so she doesn’t think she’ll be able to pick her up in time. I’m working on an important case right now, and I really can’t leave the office, so would you mind picking Jazzy up from ballet?”
“Of course,” I said, without even having to think about it. I really didn’t get to spend as much time with my younger siblings as I would like to, so I wasn’t going to pass up some time to spend with one of them.
“Thanks Justin, you’re a life saver,” my dad said, breathing out a sigh of relief.
“No problem dad,” I stated. We both said our goodbyes then I hung up and walked back to the table.
Selena looked up as I approached, “Is everything okay?” She asked.
I nodded, “Yeah everything’s fine. But I do have to ask you something.”
“What’s up?” she said, looking confused.
“Do you mind if I pick up my little sister and we chill with her for a while before I take you home? My dad and step-mom are both busy.”
“Sure, Justin, that’s fine,” she said with an easy smile. I didn’t know whether she was genuinely ok with it or was just being polite though. If she really wanted me to, I would drive her home as soon as I picked Jazzy up, instead of going back to my dad’s house with her and Jazzy until Erin came back before taking her home like I originally planned on doing. I didn’t want her to feel awkward.
“Are you sure? I mean, if you have somewhere to be-“
Selena laughed. “Justin, it’s fine I promise. I usually don’t have much going on during the day anyway, and you did treat me to this lunch; I don’t mind spending some time with your little sister.”
I smiled. “Okay then.” I called over the waitress and asked for the bill. Selena tried to sneak a glance at the bill when it came but I just grinned and hid it from her. She didn’t need to know that I had dropped almost $100 on this meal; she may not think so but I knew that she was worth it. I paid for the meal using my new Black AmEx but also left a generous tip for the waitress in cash. When she came to pick up the bill she grinned at me and thanked me in French, telling me that I was sweet and a gentleman. I just blushed and took the compliments in stride.
Then she winked at me and said, “Votre petite amie est très chanceux de t’avoir”
I smiled and didn’t bother correcting her but the entire time through our exchange in French Selena had been giving me strange looks.
As we left the bistro she turned to me and asked, “What did that waitress say to you?”
I just grinned and shook my head, “It’s not important.”
Selena pouted, “Then why can’t you tell me?”
I looked at her for a moment before a slow smile spread over my face. “Are you jealous?”
“What?” Selena scoffed, “No. I’m just nosy.”
“Sure you are.”
“I am,” she insisted.
“Whatever you say Selena,” I said as we both entered my car.
I pulled up outside of Jazzy’s ballet school at 3:47 to see her sitting outside with one of her ballet teachers and a couple of her little friends. Her face lit up when she saw my car.
“Do you mind waiting here?” I asked Selena.
“No, it’s no problem,” she said. So I slid out of the car and walked over to where Jazzy was.
“Bieber!” She exclaimed, running over and jumping into my arms. I laughed and spun her around.
“Hey princess!” I put her down before turning to face her teacher.
“Hi, I’m Jazzy’s older brother Justin. My dad should have called to let you know that I’m picking her up today.”
The teacher nodded and smiled, “Yes, I received your father’s phone call. You’re free to take her.”
“Thanks,” I said, “Say bye Jazzy” I told her.
“Bye Miss Mary,” she said cutely and waved at all her little friends as we made our way back to my car.
I opened the door to the back seat and strapped her in before for making my way back to the driver’s seat. Quick as ever, Jazzy noticed Selena and stared at her.
“Who are you?” she asked, and Selena turned around and smiled sweetly at her.
“Hi, my name’s Selena, I’m a friend of Justin’s,” she introduced.
“Selena’s going to hang out with us today Jazzy, isn’t that exciting?” I asked as I pulled out of the parking lot and began on the short journey to my dad’s place.
Jazzy smiled and nodded enthusiastically. “Yay! You’re really pwetty.” She informed Selena.
Selena blushed, “Aww, thank you. You’re very pretty too. How old are you sweetheart?” She asked.
“I’m 5.” Jazzy said proudly.
“Wow, so you’re a big girl now, huh?”
“Uh huh,” Jazzy agreed, “I pick my own clothes and everything.”
Selena and I both laughed as I pulled into my dad’s driveway. We both got out of the car and I went over to Jazzy’s door to unbuckle her and help her out of the car. Selena was staring in awe at the house.
“This is where you live?!” She asked, surprised. My dad’s mansion was pretty big and definitely impressive to most people the first time they saw it. My mom’s was pretty much the same size as well.
I chuckled, “Technically, this is where my dad lives. I live with my mom, but I do stay here sometimes,” I said as we made our way inside with Jazzy.
“Wow,” Selena stated.
“Selly come see my room!” Jazzy exclaimed as soon as we got inside, grabbing Selena’s arm and dragging her upstairs.
“Sure sweetie,” Selena laughed, allowing herself to be pulled. I couldn’t stop myself from grinning; my little sister could be a handful sometimes but there was no denying that she was adorable. I went up to my room and changed out of my uniform and into some sweats, because I hadn’t had time to change since I picked Selena up. I grabbed a shirt and was about to put it on when I heard some devious giggles coming from Jazzy’s room so I decided to go and investigate.
As I entered the room, I saw Barbies spread all over the floor and Selena was wearing one of Jazzy’s play tutus over her jeans. Jazzy was sitting in front of her and talking loudly.
“And then I put the lipstick on Bieber and he looked like a clown!” She giggled, and Selena laughed right along with her.
“Jazzy, are you spreading stories about me,” I asked playfully, leaning against the doorframe, causing them both to turn around and look at me. Selena’s eyes widened when she saw that I was shirtless and Jazzy squealed and covered her eyes.
“Eww, Bieber you’re nakey!” She exclaimed and I laughed.
“Jazzy I’m not naked, I’m just shirtless.” Selena was still staring at my abs so I smirked at her and asked.
“Like what you see?” She blushed and looked away.
“Put on a shirt Justin,” She told me with an eye roll. I laughed but slid my shirt one.
“So what are you ladies up to?” I asked, “Besides making fun of me of course.”
Jazzy uncovered her eyes and grinned up at me, “We were gonna play princesses!”
“Well you can count me out of that game,” I laughed.
“Bieber doesn’t make a very good princess,” Jazzy whispered loudly into Selena’s ear, causing her to laugh.
“I bet he doesn’t.”
“Hey, that’s offensive! I make a fantastic princess,” I joked.
“I can just imagine you in a dress,” Selena added and we all laughed.
“I have the right legs for it,” I said with a wink.
“Of course you do.”
“Bieber are you and Selly gonna get married?” Jazzy asked out of the blue.
I choked on air and Selena went bright red.
“What?! Where did you get that idea from Jazzy?”
“Well, mommy says that when two people like each other then they get married. I wanted to get married to Cameron from down the street but mommy says I’m not old enough,” she pouted, “But you and Selly are both old enough! So you should get married, then I’ll be Selly’s sister too!” She exclaimed with a bright smile.
“Jazzy, I don’t think you quite understand marriage…” I began carefully.
“Yes I do,” she insisted, “You guys like each other, right?”
“Well, yeah, but-“
“Justin and I are just friends Jazzy,” Selena said firmly.
“You can still get married,” Jazzy insisted. Before this awkward conversation could go on any longer I heard Erin call up from the foyer.
“Justin? Jazzy? I’m back!” Jazzy’s face lit up and she ran out of the room shouting “Mommy!” as she made her way downstairs.
Selena pulled off the tutu and we both followed Jazzy down to the foyer, where we found her hugging Erin’s legs, while Jaxon sat on the couch playing with some toys.
“Hey little buddy,” I exclaimed as I picked him up and spun him around, “So does Jaxo have a concussion?” I asked Erin.
“No the doctor says that he’s fine this time.” She gave Selena, who had been standing awkwardly in the background, a welcoming smile, “Hi, I’m Erin, and you are?”
Before Selena could speak Jazzy jumped in and spoke for her.
“This is Selly, she’s my new friend! She’s gonna marry Bieber!”
Erin raised an eyebrow and smirked at me, “Oh really? How come I never got an invitation to this wedding Justin?” I rolled my eyes.
“We are not getting married Jazzy,” I stated, and she pouted. I turned to Erin, “This is my friend Selena. Selena this is my stepmom Erin. And this little man is my brother Jaxon” I said gesturing to him as I held him in my arms.
“Hi, it’s nice to meet you,” Selena said smiling politely at Erin and shaking her hand.
“Wow, she’s pretty and polite. Maybe you should marry her Justin,” Erin joked. Selena blushed and I could tell that she felt awkward so I tossed her my car keys and said,
“Hey Sel, you can go get my started if you want, I’ll be out in a few and then I’ll take you home.
“Okay,” she said smiling at me gratefully. She turned to Erin and the kids, “It was nice meeting you all.”
“Selly, are you going to come back to play with me?” Jazzy asked, pouting up at her.
Selena smiled and leaned down to hug her. “Sure I am Jazzy. We never got to play our game of princesses.” I grinned at the exchange as Selena gave one last wave before making her way outside to my car. It was cute to see her getting along so well with my little sister.
“She seems nice, I like her,” Erin stated when she left. “Good choice Justin.”
“We’re just friends Erin,” I said as I put Jaxon back down.
“Sure you are; but I can tell that you like her.”
“She has a boyfriend.” Even though she wouldn’t be with that dick for much longer if I had anything to do with it. I didn’t want to deal with Erin teasing me right now though.
“That doesn’t mean you don’t like her,” Erin said in a sing song voice with a wink. I decided to ignore the comment and I leaned down to kiss both Jaxon and Jazzy’s foreheads.
“Well, I’m about to head out.” I gave Erin a hug, “Bye everyone!” Jaxon and Jazzy chorused out their goodbyes to me as I headed towards the door and Erin yelled,
“Thanks for picking Jazzy up, Justin!”
“It was no problem!” I called back before leaving the house and sliding into the driver’s seat on my car. It was gonna be a long drive back to Selena’s place.
“Thanks for taking me out today,” Selena said to me as I pulled up in front of her apartment building.
“No problem. Thanks for putting up with Jazzy for me,” I joked.
Selena laughed, “She’s cute; I liked spending time with her.”
“Well that’s good because I have a feeling she’s going to be obsessed with you for a while. She likes you a lot, and she doesn’t usually warm up to strangers that quickly.”
Selena smiled, “Well that’s good then, because I liked her a lot too. It’d be cool to get to hang out with her again sometime.”
“So you wanna hang out with my sister again but not with me?” I pouted and Selena laughed.
“When did I say I didn’t want to hang out with you again?” She asked.
I turned and looked at her, “So you do?” I smiled.
She looked back into my eyes a few seconds before turning away and saying, “Sure I do, we’re friends, right?”
I didn’t like the emphasis that she put on the word friends, because I knew that I wanted to be so much more than that, but I would have to deal for now.
Selena leaned over and gave me a hug, “Thanks again Justin,” she said before slipping out of the car and walking inside her apartment building.
End of Part 9
Hope you guys like this part, it was fun to write (: I hoped Jazzy didn’t seem weird, I’m not good at writing children.
The french translations were done in google translate so they might be wrong. If they are, feel free to message me, I’ll correct them! (:
The first thing Justin Said: I may sound good, but you look beautiful, darling
What the Waitress Said to Justin: Your Girlfriend is Lucky to have you.
Thanks for reading guys. I always LOVE LOVE LOVE feedback (: Feel free to leave something in my ask; tell me what you thought of this part, what you think of the characters, the story in general, any predictions you may have, constructive criticism, invasive questions about my personal life or anything at all really, my ask is always open (:
My one shot Someone nice got 32 notes btw, which isn’t a lot for some people, but to me that’s amazing (: I want to write some more one shots, so if anyone has any ideas, don’t be afraid to message them to me! I’ll try and get them done.
So it’s been for ever since I updated (and even longer since I updated this story) and I am sorry for that, and I know I deserve all of the angry messages you anons leave in my inbox. I know I suck at updating, and that it something I am trying to work on, but sometimes life just gets in the way. I thought I would have more time now that it’s summer, but these past two weeks have been crazy. Things should be calming down now though, and I really will try my best to update more often. I haven’t written the second part of this yet, (I usually never upload one part of a chapter if I don’t have the second part written, but I think you guys definitely deserve this and more) and I don’t think I’ll be able to write it today because I’m about to go out and probably won’t be back until late, but tomorrow is pretty free for me right now, so fingers crossed (:
Thank you guys so much for reading my stories, even though it doesn’t always seem like it, I am so grateful for each and every follower I have!
It was a struggle for me to stay awake during all of my morning classes. I had stayed at Selena’s until 2am before making the hour drive back to my side of town. Luckily, my mom had an early shift this morning and was already asleep when I got home, so she couldn’t berate me for coming in so late on a morning night. Selena and I had a great time last night. She was still reluctant to open up to me about anything serious, but we had some pretty good light conversations. I was able to learn a lot of random little things about her, like her favorite kind of food is Chinese, her favorite color is green and she is originally from Texas. Unfortunately, whenever I tried to dig a little deeper, like asking why she moved from Texas, she would clam up and shut me out. Surprisingly, we swapped numbers before I left. Of course, I already had her number from when I hacked into my mom’s computer, but it was nice to know that she now trusted me enough to give it to me herself. It was lunchtime so I made my way over to my usual table where Ryan and Alfredo were both already sitting. I didn’t have my food yet but the lines were long so I planned on waiting until they went down a little.
“Dude, where were you yesterday at lunch?” Ryan asked.
“I went to have lunch with my mom,” I replied, sliding on to the bench next to Alfredo.
“Momma’s boy,” Alfredo teased.
“And proud of it.”
“This feels like an appropriate time for a yo momma joke,” Ryan mused.
“Don’t even think about it bro.”
“Your mom is pretty hot,” Alfredo said.
“Dude,” I exclaimed, punching him in the arm, but he just laughed.
“Just speaking the truth.”
“You’re ridiculous.” I had decided against telling Ryan and Alfredo about Selena yet. Even though I usually told them everything, I didn’t know how they would react to the fact that I was pretty much infatuated with a stripper. Because even if I didn’t like thinking of her as just a stripper, because I knew that she was so much more than that, I knew that Ryan and Alfredo would. Besides, Selena and I were only just barely becoming friends.
“Hey guys!” I looked up to see Ashley heading over to the table, but was surprised to see Alyssa with her. Both of the girls sat down with their food, Ashley next to Ryan, and Alyssa opposite her and next to me. She gave me a shy smile.
“Alyssa, this is Justin. Justin, Alyssa.” Ashley introduced.
“We’ve already met,” I stated.
“Yeah, we have calculus together,” Alyssa added. We had talked a little bit more today, but I was so tired that I probably didn’t make a very good conversational partner.
“Oh cool,” Ashley said, “Alyssa and I have dance together. She sat with us yesterday, but you weren’t here.”
“Because he was with his mommy,” Ryan smirked
“Don’t hate on my mom man,” I joked. Luckily, I didn’t have to contribute much more to the conversation, because Alfredo launched into another one of his crazy stories, allowing my thought to shift back to Selena. It was crazy to think that I had only met her a few days ago; it felt like I had known her for much longer than that. As if the universe could read my mind, I got a text from Selena.
Selena: Hey Justin, can I ask you a huge favor?
I had been planning to next her later and was happily surprised that she had texted me first. If there is one thing that I have learned about Selena, it’s that she doesn’t really like to ask for help, so the fact that she was asking me for something was a pretty big deal.
Justin: Anything. What’s up?
Selena: Andy borrowed my car yesterday to drive to his place and he hasn’t come back yet. I need to pick up my pain meds from the pharmacy today. Can you please come and give me a ride?
I rolled my eyes at the mention of her deadbeat boyfriend, but I wasn’t about to pass up the opportunity to see Selena again.
Justin: I’ll be there as soon as I can
I didn’t even realize that I had already stood up until Ashley gave me a weird look, “Justin, what are you doing?”
“Oh uh, something came up. I need to leave,” I offered, even though I knew that it was a weak ass explanation.
“Dude, lunch is almost over,” Alfredo pointed out.
“I’m not coming back,” I stated as I grabbed my stuff and made my way to my car. There would really be no point of coming back; there was only 3 hours left of school after lunch, and considering that it took me almost an hour to get to Selena’s, by the time I got there, helped her out and then drove back, school would be pretty much over anyway. Besides if I wasn’t planning on coming back, I could spend more time with Selena.
I ignored the incredulous looks my friends were giving me as I got to my car. I know that I’ve been acting strange these past few days, but at this point I really couldn’t give them a good explanation for my behavior.
The ride to Selena’s was made shorter by the fact that it was the middle of the day and there wasn’t a lot of traffic.
Instead of getting out of my car and going up to Selena’s apartment, I simply texted her to let her know that I was here and parked in front of her building, because I was driving my brand new car right now, and wasn’t naïve enough to leave it in a neighborhood like this.
Selena came down a few minutes later and flashed me a grateful smile as she slid into the passenger seat of the car.
“Thank you for doing this for me,” she said, “I didn’t know who else to ask. Most of my friends don’t have cars, and those that do are working right now…” suddenly she turned to me with a worried expression, “you weren’t doing anything important were you?”
I chuckled, “Well that depends on how important you consider high school.”
Selena groaned and slapped her forehead with her palm. “I completely forgot that you were still in school. I’m really sorry, you can go back if you want; I can get my meds another time.” I laughed again.
“Selena, it’s fine, I chose to come here. You need to take your pain meds today, they’re important. Besides, all my important classes are in the morning anyway.” This was mostly true, but even if it wasn’t, I probably still would have left to see Selena; that’s how much of a hold she has over me even in the short amount of time that I’ve known her, and she didn’t even know it.
“If you say so…”
“I do.” I started the car and pulled out onto the main road. “Tell me where the closest pharmacy is.”
Selena gave me directions and I drove to the nearest Walgreens, which was about a twenty minute drive away, making me understand why she didn’t want to walk there. It was pretty easy to find the right medications that she needed. When we got to the cashier I whipped out my credit card and paid for them before Selena could protest. She glared at me but I just smiled innocently back. We headed out of the store about ten minutes after we entered.
“Thanks again for doing this Justin. I don’t know how to repay you.”
I grinned, “How about you come to lunch with me?” I hadn’t gotten much chance to eat at school and I didn’t think that Selena had eaten yet either.
She looked unsure. “Um…” The way her eyes flicked around made me think that she must have been thinking about her douche bag boyfriend and what he would think if he saw her with me. Hopefully I would be able to get him off her mind soon.
“Come on, my treat. I’ll take you to this place I go to a lot, it’s far from here but the food is totally worth it. ” I insisted, “I did drive all the way out here to help you. There’s nothing wrong with two friends going on a friendly lunch date together.”
well june 13 .. is not 'yesterday' to june 16th .. that's bout two bdays in between sweetheart.
I wrote that at like 2 in the morning after just getting home, I had not looked at the time yet, and didn’t know how late it was, so I was assuming it was the 15th. Making “yesterday” the 14th. Which was the day after the 13th. The day I said “today or tomorrow”. So my timing was a little off, but my reasoning remains the same, thank you very much.
Actually it was yesterday. And one of my close family friends was in a bad car accident and we all went to go see her at the hospital yesterday, she just got out of ICU, but thanks for not even asking nicely why I didn’t update when I had already started the chapter, and going straight to being bitchy instead. Look, I’m really sorry, but the last two days have been crazy: between my friend in the hospital and my cousin getting confirmed, I foreal have not had time. I’m tired as fuck right now but I will try and finish the next part tomorrow. Sorry if I seem salty but it’s been a long couple of days.

This one shot is based on that comment Selena made in her live chat today (: This is entirely based on speculation and my imagination, but I immediately thought that she was talking about Justin when she mentioned “dancing in the kitchen with someone nice”. This is my first one shot so feedback is appreciated (: Criminal Intentions and Night and Day are forthcoming, probably next week because I’m busy with my graduation and college stuff this week. Definitely happening though! Sorry that this is so short and crappy, but hopefully you guys like it anyway! (:
“Justin, stop it,” Selena squealed as Justin swung her around in the kitchen of his mansion.
“You know you love it baby,” he joked, as he gently placed her back on the ground and tried to pull her into a tight hug. She pretended to struggle for a while, play hitting him on the chest, before succumbing and melting into his embrace.
“No, you just know that I love you,” she mumbled into his chest. Justin couldn’t stop the grin that spread across his face at those words. After their rocky break up and tenuous reconciliation in Oslo, he’d constantly been worried about where they stood in their relationship. He knew that she wanted to take it slow, but this was only the third time that she had told him that she loved him since they got back together, despite him telling her at the end of every phone call, message, or meeting that they had. He understood that she was just trying to protect herself, that she didn’t want to jump straight back into the relationship after everything that had happened, everything that he’d done to her and all the mistakes that had made, but it still hurt to tell someone you loved them and not hear it back. This was the first time since they got back together that she had said it first.
“I love you too,” he murmured, kissing her softly. Selena smiled up at him before pulling herself out of the embrace.
“Now enough of this mushy stuff. Let’s party!” she exclaimed, throwing her hands up into the air and shaking her butt. Justin laughed at her antics.
“You wanna party right now?”
“Yes,” Selena said, walking over to turn the radio on, blasting the volume all the way up. “It’ll be fun. Just the two of us.”
“Just the two of us, huh?” Justin questioned with an amused smirk. “That sounds more like a bedroom party than a kitchen party,”
“Shut up,” Selena laughed as she made her way back over to him and draped her hands over his shoulders. “Dance with me.”
She didn’t have to ask him twice; soon they were both jumping around the kitchen, dancing crazily to every song, laughing like lunatics, and just generally having a great time together.
The radio cut to commercial break and Justin finally slowed down, and pulled Selena back into his arms with an easy grin, placing his hands on her waist and swaying with her.
“What are you doing,” she giggled, “The music’s stopped.”
“We don’t need music,” he declared, “I want to slow dance with my baby.”
“You’re a dork,” she stated, but she leaned her head on his chest and starting swaying with him. As much as she had been trying to distance herself from their relationship, at least for now, she couldn’t help how inexplicably drawn to him she always was. She loved him and she just couldn’t stay away.
“You think I’m amazing and you know it,” he teased.
“Amazing is not the word I would use,” she teased back. He looked into her eyes sincerely and asked,
“So what word would you use?” She knew that despite his light tone, he wasn’t teasing anymore. He wanted a serious answer and she could see the insecurity in his eyes no matter how much he tried to hide it. But at the same time she wasn’t sure if she was ready to lay all of her feelings completely out their again. She wasn’t sure if she was ready to jump in headfirst again.
“You’re… nice” she settled for.
He raised an eyebrow. “Just nice?”
“Very, very, very nice,” she replied, accompanied with a few sensual butterfly kisses that she placed on his collarbone.
“I can live with nice,” he stated, before pulling her into a passionate kiss.
Maybe he would be getting that bedroom party he wanted afterall.
Still Sunday in Texas! Technically. I actually finished this like 20 minutes ago but got distracted. Sorry guys :/ So this is super late and I have no valid excuse… I love you guys? And I’m sowwy :(
Anyway this is mostly filler, but stuff actually starts to happen in the next part so yay (:
On with the show
As I walked into work on Monday morning, I felt relaxed. Justin and I had spent all of Sunday just chilling at his house- I guess I should start calling it our house now- and it had been nice. We hadn’t done anything like that for a while and I loved just spending time with him. After Saturday night- or I guess Sunday morning- , I had definitely needed the rest too.
“Hey girl.” Taylor had been leaning against my desk waiting for me as I came in and I grinned easily at her.
“Hey,” I put all of my stuff down before sitting in front of my computer, “Don’t you have work to do today?” I was the secretary for the editor-in-chief- of Luxe magazine, so all of my work was done behind this desk, but Taylor was a photographer, so she spent a lot of time out taking pictures.
She shook her head. “Nah, not until later anyway.” She moved some stuff over and sat on my desk, facing me with a grin. “How was your anniversary? I didn’t hear from you yesterday so I’m guessing that it went well?” Taylor gave me an exaggerated wink and I laughed. “Yeah, it was nice.”
“Where did he take you? I bet it was super romantic!” she sighed. I frowned remembering the business dinner. That hadn’t been the part of the evening I had been talking about when I said it was nice. I was definitely talking about what happened afterwards.
“Actually he had to go to some business thing so he brought me with him.”
“Oh,” Taylor pulled a face, “That sounds boring.” I shrugged. The dinner on the yacht had been okay. But even with my business degree, I didn’t understand even half of what those people were talking about; it was as if they were talking in some weird code. And Gerald Skyes was downright creepy. I don’t know how Justin’s dad had been partners with him for so long, but then again I never met Justin’s dad; I just assumed he must have been a great person because he raised Justin pretty much all by himself and Justin turned out fine. Overall, the entire dinner was just odd; a lot of the guests just gave me this weird bad vibe. Justin’s friends had all been nice though; I was glad that I had finally met them.
“It was ok; some of the people were a little weird. But Justin definitely made it up to me afterwards,” I grinned and Taylor laughed.
“I can already guess how he made it up to you,” she teased.
“Good, because I’m not giving you any details,” I replied with a wink.
“Sel, you know I live vicariously through you! Hearing about your dates with Justin let’s me delude myself into believing my love life isn’t nonexistent. “
I laughed. “Or you could just find a boyfriend…?”
“Ugh, guys are assholes,” Taylor rolled her eyes, “That gay or taken rule totally applies to my life. I think you got one of the last good ones.” I couldn’t help but smile at Taylor’s words. I knew that I was so lucky to have someone like Justin. All of my relationships before him had ended badly, and when we first started dating, I was always half expecting him to mess up too, or do something stupid, or turn into an asshole, but he never did. Justin was just a truly great guy.
“If only I could make my dad see that.”
“You still haven’t told your dad that Justin asked you to move in with him?”
“Taylor, are you crazy? Of Course, I haven’t! My dad will be so pissed.”
“You’re going to have to tell him eventually…”
I sighed, “I know I am; it’s just going to suck. I wish he would give Justin a chance.”
“Maybe he’d be less angry if Justin put a ring on it before you moved in with him,” Taylor joked.
I snorted, “I think he would be angrier if Justin ‘put a ring on it’. My dad hates Justin’s guts; he doesn’t want me to marry him.”
“Do you want to marry Justin?”
“Well… yeah,” I said with a blush. Getting married to each other wasn’t something that Justin and I had ever explicitly spoken about before, but we had spoken about marriage in general and I knew that it was something that we both wanted in the future. I just didn’t know if Justin wanted that with me. I hoped that he did, because I knew that I did with him. At this point, I couldn’t really imagine myself being with anyone but Justin.
“You should start dropping hints about it,” Taylor advised, “Like asking him to go to the mall with you and purposefully slowing down when you get near the ring store. Or asking him to watch a movie with you and playing something, engagement related. Or casually leaving bridal magazines around the house, or-“
“Taylor, Taylor, stop” I laughed, “I’m not going to do any of that stuff.”
“Why not,” Taylor pouted.
“Because I don’t want to rush or pressure him. Or creep him out.”
“Good point,” Taylor acquiesced. “So when are you moving in with him?”
“At the end of this month when the lease on my apartment finishes. But I pretty much stay at his place all the time anyway.”
“You’re so lucky,” Taylor sighed again, but before I could reply to her, my boss poked his head out of his office.
“I’m hearing a whole lot of talking but not a whole lot of working,” he said with a pointed glance at me.
“Sorry Mr. Payson,” I said dutifully and Taylor jumped off my desk, mumbling a quick goodbye before heading over to her own desk to check her photo assignments. As far as bosses went, Mr. Payson was okay. He was nice enough, just very serious about his work; this magazine was his baby. And I respected that; I didn’t dislike working for him, I could have been way worse off, especially considering that I had gotten this job practically straight out of college. I just knew that business wasn’t where I wanted to spend the rest of my life doing.
My business management degree had been a sort of compromise with my dad. When I first went into college, he had wanted me to follow in his footsteps and go to law school, but I couldn’t stand the idea of that. It was all so boring to me, and I definitely didn’t want to spend the rest of my life in a courtroom. But my dad didn’t want me to choose a ‘stupid’ major that wouldn’t be useful, and I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do; business was a suitable middle ground for both of us. It was practical enough that my dad didn’t lecture me about wasting time and money, and it was flexible enough that it didn’t limit me.
I still haven’t really decided what I want to do with my life yet. That’s kind of depressing to think about, considering that I’m 23, but I know that someday I’ll find my calling, and then I’ll pursue it. Hopefully.
“Everyone is dismissed.” The 20 or so people who had been sitting around my board room all got up and made their way back to their various offices or buildings as another one of my routine Monday morning Board meetings.
Bieber enterprises is a huge business, and as such, I always had to have a way to keep on top of all of the separate business dealings and operations that were going on.
Monday morning meetings were something that my dad had started as a way to keep track of each sector of business.
The Bieber crime pyramid, as I liked to call it, had a very basic structure.
At the top was, of course, me. I was in charge of everything and everyone and nothing could happen without my seal of approval or there would be dire consequences. Right below me was Scooter, Alfredo, and Ryan. Although they didn’t directly control any of the ‘business’ sectors, their positions as right hand man and enforcers meant that they were the only people who knew almost as much as me about what was going on and they frequently helped me take care of any ‘unpleasant business’ that I might have. Below my enforcers were what I liked to call industry leaders; they ran specific sectors of the empire like drug dealing, weaponry, smuggling, spying, prostitution rings and stuff like that. Basically they were the highest ranked people who actually dipped their hands directly into all the illicit activities we ran. There were only about 10 of them. Directly below them were leaders of specific leaders within each specific activity who ran smaller activities all over the city, crime ringleaders. They were your basic low life thugs and dealers and didn’t have much of a skill set or use to me except that they were threatening and ruthless. There was about 100 of them so they were pretty disposable. Below them were my loan sharks. They didn’t work within any specific crime circle but simply did exactly what their title described. They borrowed ridiculous amounts of money to desperate people at dangerously high rates and never failed to provide fatal incentives when people couldn’t pay the money back in time. That was definitely one of my most lucrative areas, considering I had over 500 loan sharks all over the country. At the bottom of the pyramid were rookies. I didn’t know exactly how many of them they were because I didn’t directly hire them myself, they were hired by crime ringleaders, but I knew it must have been in the thousands. Basically, the rookies did low level grunt illegal activities; armed robbery, breaking and entering, hookers, kidnapping and vandalism to send a message, threatening people, and anything else they were asked to do. They were at the level of the pyramid that had the most contact with the crime, and were therefore arrested the most often. But my dad had been clever with the way he set up the business; because I never had any contact with the people at the bottom, they could never connect any of the crimes to me.
The business I conducted was definitely ruthless and would probably disgust the average person, but I had grown up with this, so I was basically desensitized from it. Don’t get me wrong, I know that all the violence and crime isn’t right, I just don’t really give a shit. This is my way of life, and it always has been. “Great quarter boss.” I snap out of my musing and nod curtly at James, one of my industry leaders who dealt with a drugs operation I was conducting out of Columbia.
“It could have been better, but it could have been worse.” I stated noncommittally, careful not to give away any of my true feelings about how the business was doing. Truthfully, it had been a great quarter; profits were up and police activity was down, but my dad had always taught me to never reveal too much to anyone in this business ever, even if it seemed like an inconsequential piece of information.
Trust nobody, and you’ll go far, he always told me.
James, seemingly having no answer for my response, simply nods at me and makes his way out of the door with the rest of the board members.
Once everybody has cleared out, I was left in the room with just Scooter, Alfredo and Ryan.
“So what did you guys think?” I questioned. I’d given them the task of scoping out the meeting for any suspicious behavior to see if we could get a lead on the possible rat.
In a business like this, one hole in the pyramid is all it would take for the entire thing to come crumbling down.
Ryan simply shook his head, “If any of these guys is the rat, they’re damn good at hiding it.”
“Maybe we’re looking to high up. We don’t want to underestimate the less powerful people who work for the Bieber family,” Alfredo pointed out, but Scooter just shook his head.
“There’s no way anyone who is any lower down than these guys would have the clearance, power or followers to even be able to come close to pulling off anything that could jeopardize the empire.”
I sighed. “Well, just keep your eyes open. We can’t afford for this shit to go any further than it already has.”
“So how’s everything going on the Selena front?” Ryan asked, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively.
I smiled, “Great. I’m going to propose to her.” Scooter frowned at me.
“You haven’t given up on that crazy idea yet?”
“No, and I’m not ever going to. I love her scoot. And I want to spend the rest of my life with her.”
“Well that’s all well and good Justin, except for the fact that marrying her would mean you would have to tell her the truth about what you do. As your wife, she will be legally implicated in everything if we get caught.”
“Well I’m not exactly planning on ever getting caught,” I scoffed.
“But you still have to tell her, Bro,” Ryan pointed out, “Marrying you would make her a huge target. It would be messed up if you shook up her entire life and then didn’t even explain to her why you have to have 24 hour surveillance on her to make sure she’s safe.”
They were all making good points but it was just something I didn’t even want to think about. I love Selena and I want to marry her. I wish it was just that simple.
“Well I’m all for you guys getting hitched; I could tell that you love each other a lot,” Alfredo stated. “But you have to think about how Selena will take it when she finds out the truth. She seems like a cool chick, but I don’t think anybody is that cool that they would okay with their boyfriend secretly running an empire of illegal and deplorable activities.”
“Let’s just not talk about this right now, alright guys?” I sighed. “I have assignments for you. This is going to be a busy week.”
As much as I wanted to just jump into the whole engagement with Selena thing, I knew it was something I would have to hold off on for a while.
I love Selena and I know that eventually, I will have to tell her the truth.
